Our Mission

Our mission is to treat every single patient who comes to us for help in this life-changing work with the utmost respect, compassion, and empathy. Many of our staff are, themselves, in recovery, and because of this, we understand – first hand – how hard the detox process can be. We know the importance of individualized processes and we are sympathetic to the vast range of difficulties that cause and come with addiction.

But we also know, that with the right care and support, addiction recovery is possible – and it is worth it! We are dedicated to helping our patients onto a path of recovery through transition, transformation, and renewal, while also delivering on the highest standards in care and professionalism.

Our Team

Gary Hitchcock

CADC-CAS, Co-Owner

Hello, my name is Gary Hitchcock, and I am co-owner of Dynamic Transformations Residential Detox Facility. As a recovering addict living a sober life since 2008, I understand the bondage of addiction and the freedoms of recovery on a deeply personal level. I have experienced the torment and ruin that marks a life of addiction. I know intimately that state of despair where there seems to be no relief, no hope and no future. And I have also seen the other side – the recovery side – I am living it, every day, every minute – and it is better and more fulfilling than I could have ever imagined.

I have dedicated my life to being a certified alcohol and addiction specialist, because I have found my purpose in guiding those still in the confines of addiction out into a new state of being where they may find peace, serenity, and a truer sense of self.

My life’s work is to help people out of mere survival mode by sharing recovery-based knowledge, life skills and love. If you suffer from addiction, we can help you to become empowered and overcome the many physical, emotional and mental obstacles that have hindered your efforts in the past.

The modalities we implement at Dynamic Transformations are designed to help you regain freedom of mind, body and spirit, as well as to serve as an aid in discovering and cultivating your authentic self.

Josh Mann

Co-Owner

Hello, my name is Josh, and I am co-owner of Dynamic Transformations. I am a grateful addict in recovery. I achieved and maintain daily sobriety through God’s grace and mercy combined with a strong support network and a lot of personal effort. I am grateful every day for my recovery, as it allows me to fulfill my purpose of being a husband, son, brother, and father to my two beautiful daughters. My life is more satisfying and fulfilling now than it ever was when I was using, and the work it took – and still takes – to overcome the psychological and emotional challenges that were the seat of my addiction is absolutely worth it.

I grew up in Southern California, and as long as I can remember I was never ok with me or the way I felt on the inside. I was always full of fear and anxiety. I was always looking for a way to not feel, or, at the very least, change the way I felt. My desire to escape these uncomfortable feelings led me down the path of addiction. I became a slave to drugs and the chaos that came with them. As my addiction took over, my life got much worse, and those feelings I was trying to escape never went away. Using drugs to escape my head only compounded my problems.

Through my journey out of active addiction, God has blessed me with a heart for those still in the struggle. My own recovery has taught me how to meet and love others right where they are at. My hope is that I may use my experiences to help other struggling addicts achieve this huge blessing called recovery. Addiction is a disease, and part of the way the disease works is that it makes you think that there is no way no way out of the torment and the spiritual death that it causes. But this is a lie. You can get out. There is hope – and there is a better life waiting on the other side.

I was planted in recovery to find God’s will and purpose for my life.  I am very passionate about my life’s work, and I am grateful for the opportunity to enjoy the freedom and the power that comes with living a clean and meaningful life. I firmly believe that you can have that, too. I am so very blessed to be living a clean life, and to have the friends, and the awesome family that I have today. To those who spoke life into me and who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself, THANK YOU!!! I aim to be that light to other’s walking a similar path.

Keep the faith, God bless and remember what they say, “pain is necessary, but suffering is optional.”

Ronald Honn, MS, LAADC

Program Administrator

Hello, my name is Ron and I am an addict in recovery. I am a Southern California native who can personally say that the disease of addiction has had a dramatic impact on my life and the lives of those close to me. Fortunately, I was rescued from the depths of my disease and given an opportunity to be a part of something that would change me in ways I never thought possible.

As a result of my own struggles, I feel a personal obligation to be part of the solution rather than maintaining the status quo and being part of the problem. In conjunction with my personal journey of recovery, I returned to school in an effort to be the most efficient and effective instrument of change I could be. I currently hold an MS in Psychology, am licensed as an LAADC, and am a newly appointed adjunct professor at San Bernardino Valley College. I have a passion for working with addicts and alcoholics and absolutely love what I do.

Erin K. Engstrom, APCC

Associate Therapist

Hi, my name is Erin Engstrom, and I am a therapist at Dynamic Transformations. It is my mission to help my patients succeed in recovery so they can live their best lives, free from the shackles of addiction. My clinical approach includes walking alongside patients as they learn to recognize the underlying causes of addiction, and helping them to choose sobriety, with a therapeutic focus on identifying the negative core belief systems that have contributed to their struggle.

Through detox and in aftercare, I help patients restructure how they view themselves and empower them to live as caring, motivated individuals. I believe that recovery and wellness are maintained through continuous insight and self-compassion, and therapy is an integral part of the process.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Redlands. My experience includes leading individual and group clinical therapy sessions. I also have experience providing clinical therapy services to homeless and low SES communities at the Free Clinic in Riverside, CA. In 2016, I was the University of Redlands’ Leadership Award recipient.
